A Proposal to Drill a Well for Clean Water in

Introduction

Hello, our names are Lyheang Hught (Sanghapalo), Teavyuok To Prum and all members. We are the founders of The Khmer Student Foundation.  We are a non- profit organization dedicated to help improve the lives of people (not only living in Ph. Korkrol, but also those living in surrounding cities).  We are a fairly new charity foundation, but have already made a difference in many lives, within these last few months.  Our first event involved raising money to support the victims of the stampede that occurred during the water festival on November 22, 2010 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.  We raised $1,320 (U.S. currency) and ฿ 3,000 (Thai currency) and distributed it amongst all the wounded people of the stampede.

On January 3, 2011, we raised over $727 to help support students of Salabathomsiksa Khcha, Cambodia.  We donated books, games, activity sets, water, milk and many other much needed school supplies. 

For our third event, our plan is to drill a well for clean water in Ph. Korkrol Kh. KorDorng, Sr. Angkorchum. Khet Siem Reap (Cambodia).  This well would be built on February  of 2011.  In order for this event to be successful, our goal is to raise approximately $1,500. 

Problem

In Ph. Korkrol Kh. KorDorng, Sr. Angkorchum. Khet Siem Reap (Cambodia), there is absolutely no clean water nor is there any access to get clean water.  The town is isolated from all the other cities and there is little or no precipitation in this area.  Therefore, providing for one’s family agriculturally is nearly impossible.

Objective

Our objective is to provide the city with enough clean water to make living easier.  The well will not only be used by the people of the city, but also by hundreds of people in the surrounding cities.  Having access to clean water will also help the citizens become healthier.  Building a well will not solve all the problems in Ph. Korkrol Kh. KorDorng, Sr. Angkorchum. Khet Siem Reap (Cambodia), but it will definitely be a good start to helping the people living a healthier life.

Conclusion

Our goal is to raise approximately $1,500 to build well providing fresh water for the citizens of and around the city of Ph. Korkrol Kh. KorDorng,  Sr. Angkorchum. Khet Siem Reap (Cambodia).  We are planning on doing the construction on February 22^nd to the 25^th of 2011.  Every amount raised will make a difference.  On behalf of the people live in Ph.
